did you know...

1. the day one of your best friends gets married will be one of the greatest days of your life.
2. finishing out your mom's china pattern for her christmas present is, according to the sales associate at belk, one of the sweetest gifts ever. who knew?
3. a new power cord for a macbook costs around $86 after taxes. basically, this blog post put me out $86.
4. highway 31 turns into a parking lot the two weeks before christmas
5. babysitting for three kids under the age of 5 for six hours will either make you rip your hair out or make you want to be a mother so badly you can't stand it. my experience was, thankfully, the latter.
6. I'm currently constructing my top 10 albums of 2011 and it's practically impossible considering:
a) I only bought seven new releases this year (I counted), and...
b) what I did buy, I don't feel like putting into a favorite order. friends, you're going to have to settle for alphabetical. sorry.

Mrs. Katie Douthit

I can't even begin to describe how glad I am that I can finally share these... They were taken at the end of April, and for obvious reasons, could not to be shown until after Katie and Nathan's wedding. It almost feels unfair to have been hiding away so much beauty for weeks on end, so praise the Lord-Katie and Nathan are finally married and I can show everyone how beautiful she looks in these pictures! Katie was my current roommate, Ashley, and I's discipleship group leader our freshman year, and I feel very blessed to have been able to spend an evening photographing her with Ashley assisting. It was like a little reunion. :)

All pictures: Olympus OM-2 with 50mm f/1.8 lens. Film: Kodak Portra 160NC.

Constance & Andrew

I did it. I completed my first engagement session. And it was so. much. fun. I can't even tell you how long I have wanted to take my love for photography as a fun hobby and turn it into something more serious. So when Auburn bestie Constance (who has known almost as long as I have how much I've been wanting to do this - she never heard me shut up about it), got engaged, I jumped on the opportunity to take her and Andrew's pictures. Here are my favorites. Enjoy!
P.S. this entire session was done in FILM! woo hoo!

lately.

applying to grad school still intimidates me.

I will be in two weddings this fall, and I'm still convinced that I'm not old enough to be in this stage of my life.

the westside provisions district is my new favorite thing about Atlanta.

Monday night girl's Bible study is an insurmountable blessing.

studying for the GRE makes me want to cry. so does studying for Behavioral Neuroscience.

I have been learning how to swing dance and rock climb. both are very new and exciting!

my friend just came to my apartment and gave me a Cadbury Egg. literally seconds ago. There is no explanation for how thankful I am for my friends.

I never tire of dwelling on the magnificence of the gospel. God is so good.
